Flying from 0-270mph with the Hennessey Venom GT

Last month, on February 14, 2014, the Hennessey Venom GT set a new world record for a 2-seat sports car by reaching an incredible top speed of 270.49 mph. There achieved this amazon goal on the seemingly tiny 3.2-mile Space Shuttle runway. The pilot of the Venom GT was Brian Smith, Director of Miller Motorsports Park.

After watching this amazing run, I’m struck by the sheer speed that was reached in the Venom GT. Congratulations to the folks over at Hennessey, and their record-breaking run. It’s well deserved.
