The 1,160whp Sleeper Nova

One of my favorite muscle cars of all time is the 1972 Chevrolet Nova. Seriously, I have a huge sweet spot in my heart for that car. My grandfather drove his ’72 Nova until he passed away, and that car has always been a representation of his kind, gentle character.

Dru Diesner, however, drives a Nova that is anything but kind and gentile. Built by Kurt Urban Performance, this 1,160whp leviathan of a muscle car will make you cling for dear life. The guys over at the /Drive network have done an excellent job showcasing what Dru’s Nova is capable of. How does this meek-looking Nova make 1,000+ whp? By means of a twin supercharged LS2. If you prowl the streets of Northern Chicago looking for competition, beware of this Nova.

As host Mike climbs in to drive the car, Dru says, “Have fun, and don’t get arrested. ” Love that. Well, they don’t get arrested, but they do get pulled over. Sort of.

What do you think?

Is this Nova insane, or does it nee more power? Either way, we’d love to hear what you think.
